257 illegal encroachments demolished, 149 identified in anti-encroachment drive on Tuesday

Dehradun: In pursuance of orders of honorable court, the exercise of demolition, identification of illegal encroachments and illegal constructions on footpaths, lanes and roads for general public and sealing of illegal encroachments in Dehradun city by Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun and district administration has been going on.

Under the anti-encroachment drive on Tuesday, 257 illegal encroachments were demolished and 149 illegal encroachments were identified. Till date, a total of 1916 illegal encroachments have been demolished, 4489 illegal encroachments have been identified and 88 buildings sealed during the anti-encroachment drive.

Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash informed that in pursuance of court orders, the strength of the anti-encroachment task force tasked with removing illegal encroachments within the limits of Dehradun Municipal Corporation has been increased.

Sunder Lal Semwal, Secretary, Doon Valley Special Area Development Authority, Banshi Lal Rana, General Manager, GMVN, Manmohan Singh Rawat, Executive Director, Doiwala Sugar Mill,  Vipra Trivedi, Deputy Commissioner, Revenue Counci, Jharna Kimthan, General Manager, SIDCUL, have also been included in the anti-encroachment task force.

Om Prakash said that the work of demolition of illegal encroachments, identification and sealing of illegal encroachments on main roads will be speeded up. He said that any laxity in removing encroachments on the main roads and within the limits of Municipal Corporation will not be tolerated. He said that vigil is being maintained at places where big or small hoardings have been removed during the anti-encroachment drive so that these hoardings are not installed again.

He said that the some of the owners of the buildings have themselves started removing the encroachments. He said that FIRs will be lodged against those who indulge in encroachments again under relevant sections of the IPC.  He said that the administration is getting regular support of the general public in the anti-encroachment drive.

 

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the “HNN 24×7 Education Excellence Awards Uttarakhand 2018” programme organized by HNN News Channel by lighting the traditional lamp at a local hotel in Dehradun on Tuesday.

Chief Minister distributed prizes in different categories during the programme. Among those, who received the award included DIT; Tulaj International, Doon Group of Colleges, Shivalik College of Ayurveda, Social Baluni Public School etc. On this occasion Chief Minister congratulated HNN News Channels and educational institutes receiving award. He said that it is commendable that HNN channel is honouring all the educational institutions, which are doing special work in their respective fields. This will also inspire other institutions.

Chief Minister said that the news channels work as a bridge for the exchange of information between the public and the government. Uttarakhand is a small hill state, in which there are many such areas which are very remote and inaccessible.

In this way the role of the media becomes very important. He said that the media should keep in mind that the news is based on facts. It should be seen that pilgrims and tourists visiting the Char Dham Yatra should get the correct information available in the state. He said that after the Kedarnath disaster, there has been a lot of change in the situation today. Our tourists are reaching remote areas of Uttarakhand.

Tourism will play an important role in Uttarakhand’s economy in the future. Chief Minister said that the state government has taken some steps to attract the film industry, due to which the film industry is also getting attracted towards Uttarakhand today. In the recent past, many films have been shot in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister also talked about the news channels extending their support to the state government in propagating about the beauty, art and culture of Uttarakhand.

CM Trivendra condoles demise of Raghvesh Pandey’s mother

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has expressed grief over the demise of mother of news head of Doordarshan Kendra, Dehradun Mr. Raghvesh Pandey. He prayed for the peace of the departed soul and wished that almighty provide strength to the family members of the deceased.
