Electric Vehicle Policy framed to encourage operation of pollution-free vehicles in state: CM Rawat

Dehradun : Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off the test run of the state’s first electric bus at CM residence on Tuesday. Notably, Electric Vehicle Policy has been framed by the Uttarakhand Government to encourage the operation of pollution-free vehicles in the state. In the recent Investors Summit, an MoU of Rs. 700 crore was signed for the operation of electric buses in Uttarakhand.

In this sequence, a bus has been provided for testing by Olectra Greentech Ltd, Hyderabad, which will have test run on Dehradun-Mussoorie and Haldwani-Nainital road for one month. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation will operate 25 buses on Dehradun-Mussoorie and 26 buses on Haldwani-Nainital road on basis of GGC Model.

Olectra Greentech Ltd, Hyderabad is interested to run 500 electric buses in the state. This low floor bus with 30 seats is equipped with CCTV, GPS, Panic Button and Air Suspension. There is no sound or vibration while operating this electric bus. On this occasion, Chief Minister congratulated and greeted Uttarakhand Transport Corporation. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Mr. Yashpal Arya and MLA Mr. Ganesh Joshi were present.


Famous Bhajan singer Anuradha Paudwal calls upon CM Rawat extends her support in promoting religious tourism

Famous Bhajan singer Anuradha Paudwal had a courtesy meeting with Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at his official residence on Monday. During the meeting, she expected the Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat to encourage temple tourism according to ‘Devbhoomi’ in Uttarakhand and assured her full support in this regard.

Anuradha Paudwal said that Ganga Arti, Shri Badrinath, Shri Kedarnath, Shivaradhana, Vaishno Devi like religious places have remained the centre of her singing. She said that she would like to be an associate in the efforts to link religious temples of Uttarakhand since she had special attraction with ‘Maa Ganga’ and Uttarakhand.

Appreciating her suggestions, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the state has been making efforts to highlight the religious places and ‘Puranic’ temples before the country and the world apart from ‘Char Dham’ temples. He said that special attention is being paid to reconstruction Shri Kedarnath and beautification of Shri Badrinath temple. These places are linked with heli services and soon Gangotri and Yamountri will also be linked with helicopter services. All these areas are also being beautified.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said besides the conservation of ‘Puranic’ temples, Panchkedar, Panchbadri and places and temples associated with ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharat’ would also be developed. He said that the place where ‘Mata’ Sita took ‘Samadhi’ and where Laxman gave her a send off at two temples at Sitakoti and Bidakoti are situated at Sitayasu in Pauri Garhwal district. There is a Valmiki temple also.

He said that there are many more temples having religious significance which are being developed so that religious tourism gets a boost in the state.

On this occasion, Secretary Dilip Jawalkar said that to give encouragement to religious tourism, the state government is making efforts to showcase the temples with ‘Puranic’ significance. Mapping of Panchkedar, Panchbadri and other temples is being done. A master plan for Badrnathji and Bhavishya Badri is being prepared. He said that a working plan is being prepared to highlight the unexplored places and ‘Puranic’ temples in the state. Technical Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Singh, Media advisor Mr. Ramesh Bhatt, Secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki were present on the occasion.
