Dehradun:Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat released “Uttarakhand Ka Jan Itihas Lok Sanskriti Evam Samaj” “Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari” ‘Bhagat Da’ Abhinandan Granth at a local hotel on Subhash Road on Wednesday. Chief Minister said that we are all aware of the simplicity of Mr. Koshyari. His life has been a struggle full. Chief Minister wished a healthy and happy life of Mr. Koshyari. He hoped that Mr. Koshyari would continue to guide us.

Chief Minister said that in this book, the state’s culture, traditions, agriculture, folk songs and various historical events have been included. It is very important for us to preserve our identity. Such texts should be written from time to time and literature should be made, so that our future generation can become familiar with its rich, cultural heritage, traditions and glorious history.

Chief Minister said that we need to pay attention towards water conservation. The government has set a target to plant one lakh saplings in one hour. He said that work is being done for the rejuvenation Rispana river in Dehradun and of Kosi river in Almora. Giving example of Jain Hills, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, Chief Minister said that Jalgaon gets water for two days a week.

Neither surface nor ground water is there. Rainfall is also lesser than our state. He said that rain water is collected there. The people of Jalgaon have overcome this problem of water by accumulating rain water. They have presented an example. Chief Minister said that the officials were sent there to study Jalgaon. He said that there is a plan to collect rain water in every district.

On this occasion, MP Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Padma Shri Leeladhar Jagudi, Director Doon Library Dr. V.K.Joshi etc. also expressed their views. This book, published by Samay Sakshya was edited by Dr. Vijay Bahuguna. Co-operatives Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat along with other dignitaries were present in the programme.
